The Cannabis Queen of The Commonwealth, Ellen Rosenfeld of CommCan, Inc

Ellen Rosenfeld has been dubbed the Cannabis Queen of the Commonwealth, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that is. Her cannabis company, CommCan - The Commonwealth Cannabis Company - is Massachusetts’ only self-financed, vertically integrated cannabis company that is family-owned and operated by lifelong Massachusetts’ residents. CommCan’s state-of-the-art 60,000 square foot cultivation facility built in 2017 is located in the bedroom community of Medway, Massachusetts. Ellen, along with her brothers, also operates a medical-only dispensary in Southborough, Massachusetts and a state-of-the-art co-located recreational and medical dispensary in Millis. CommCan has created more than 70 new local jobs in the communities where it operates and are planning on expanding.

Before earning her royal cannabis title, she was a real estate developer and attorney who gave her valuable time to The Volunteer Lawyer’s Project. The sign of a true caregiver. CommCan is the first woman-owned business under the description of “cultivation, processing and sales of medical and adult-use cannabis.” As Granted by the Massachusetts Operational Services Division of the Supplier Diversity Office. The designation is valid for three years, and, most importantly, puts CommCan squarely on the map as a pioneer in breaking through the diversity challenges in the Massachusetts cannabis industry.

Joyce, Amie and Ellen talk about women in business, cannabis advocacy and, Joyce’s favorite topic, cannabis and municipal law. And Amie shares her favorite thing, CommCan’s newest product, a cannabis infused lemon soda.
