Cannabis Accounting and The Who with Mitzi Hollenbeck
Mitzi Hollenbeck is a cannabis CPA and found her place in the cannabis industry after serving as a Selectwoman for her small New England town, Lakeville, Massachusetts. While serving on her local board she realized how ill prepared elected policy makers were to handle the fast moving business of cannabis. Mitzi is uniquely positioned to tackle this issue in the emerging cannabis world having both practical experience in local government and solid connections to cannabis businesses. She shares her story of persuading the accounting firm, Citrin Cooperman, that she was the person to lead the charge to help develop good business practices in the emerging cannabis industry. As her accounting firm was founded by their work in the world of Rock n Roll, they quickly agreed.
Mitzi understands those who understand the industry should be working to help others understand it too. She travels around the country sharing her knowledge and works every day to educate those around her about cannabis and business.
Joyce and Amie talk with Mitzi about local politics, Massachusetts municipal law, cannabis accounting and, of course, how as a woman and a mom she incorporates cannabis into her life. And Amie’s favorite thing is a beautiful piece of cannabis jewelry from High Society Collection.
